Where to go this summer?

Traveling this summer may sound like a cruel joke: airlines are getting worse, gas prices are creeping toward $5 a gallon and the euro continues to go up, up, up. It's almost enough to make you stay home. Almost. With a little creativity and perhaps a willingness to stay closer to home, a great summer vacation is still within reach. Here are some options:

Stockholm, Sweden

Stockholm, Sweden is a city of unconventional surprises and discoveries. With tourists deterred mainly due to high prices, Stockholm has stayed clear of the tourist trail and managed to take on a personality of its own. Stockholm boasts winding, cobbled medieval streets and stunning Royal Palace as its central attractions. You can also see the city from above on a guided rooftop walk, but the undiscovered creeks and marshlands are the real jewel; hop on the 1900 steamboat to find these hidden treasures.

 Morocco

Morocco, the hazy spit of land across the Strait of Gibraltar, is 13km and worlds away from Europe. The nation contains unparalleled raw beauty, with lush valleys, enormous desert dunes, ancient imperial cities, and North Africa’s highest mountains. While you may reach Morocco today by high-speed ferry rather than brigantine ship, your path has been well worn by years of cultural exchange. Arab, African, and European influences come together gracefully in modern Morocco. Locals hawk thuya wood from the beaches of Essaouira next to Fez’s famed blue pottery, along with movies from America and sandals from China. Donkeys hurtle down alleys past women who accessorize headscarves with Gucci shades. Relatively inexpensive, easily accessible from Europe, and with a healthy blend of established traveling community and off-the-beaten-path opportunities, Morocco is one of the best travel destination this summer.

Istanbul

Istanbul is an old old city, you can see the remains of many ancient civilizations and their culture in harmony with Turkish culture. The old versus the new, the traditional versus the modern is a conflict a visitor often observes. The city is full of contrasts, and colorful views, So enjoy one of them:
The diverse ethnicity of the city, is another point which is worth examinig. The Minorities sum up to a majority and build up an enormous population. The natives of the city are very typical, you can easily identify them from the look in their eyes. take a look at the good old days.
