London, United Kingom

The city of London has rich history. The bridge over the River Thames is used to be the landmark of the city. The city was first built by the Romans, was the center of trade, and served as a seaport. As London began to expand the surrounding villages became its part which used to be separate entities. The expansion of the city kept on going and the Westminster city was also incorporated into the capital. The parts which merged into London, many of them have lost their identity now. However, some retain their character or name.
The making of London has seen different eras of history. The great palaces like the Buckingham and St James along with the historic parks of Hyde and Richmond are the marks of the monarchs. Before the arrival of the Normans, Westminster used to be a wonder. The construction of the Tower of London was started by them. In the World War II the Luftwaffe and the great fire changed the face of the city.
The description of the modern London is not complete until we talk about “The Gherkin” along with the St Paul’s cathedral and the historic political houses of the Parliament.
London has got five international airports which are interconnected and offer the transfer services. The transfer services make the travel from London to Lutton, Gatwick, Stansted and back to London convenient than ever. Availing these services is also cost effective.
London has a greatly diversified culture with over 300 different languages spoken in the city. Every culture has its own representation in the city with its own shopping places, restaurants and outfit places. There are a variety of races residing in the capital and people from different nationalities have gathered here.
Certain cultures are dominating in certain areas like South African subculture is concentrated in the Raynes Park. The Chinatown is the hub of the Chinese shopping areas and is no longer used for residential purposes. There are a range of restaurants in the city and whatever your food preferences are; you will find the food of your choice.
The weather of London is rainy throughout the year. In the winters it is very cold and foggy and the rain further adds to the chill. However in the summers the temperatures are moderate and the days are sunny. If you have well prepared yourself for the seasons then changes in weather will not be a problem.
The city has great historic places like the Great museum, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of the Parliament and the London eye are some of the places to name a few.
